Those of you who checked the blog last night or very, very early this morning, would have seen my post about going out of town later today to see two Bruce Springsteen concerts.

This morning, I woke up to the sad news that the E Street Band's long time organ player, Danny Federici, passed away yesterday after a three year battle with melanoma. 

The concerts have been postponed while Bruce and the rest of the band mourn the death of their long time friend and band mate.

Even though fans didn't know Danny personally, when you've followed an artist for so long, you feel the loss, too, and you certainly empathize with the grief felt by his family and friends.

Our hearts go out to all of them.
